What inspired you to start your business?

I was inspired to get into fitness to obtain and maintain a healthy lifestyle for myself and set an example for my family. I decided to open my business to expand my impact in fitness in my local community and to set a higher standard of fitness training. I am motivated by educating and training those up-and-coming fitness professionals who are eager to learn and want to be the best fitness professional possible. Opening my own business serves as a platform for me to accomplish these things.

What is one hard lesson you’ve learned in business you believe has been most valuable?

Never ever stop growing. The moment you stop or the moment your slowdown is when the world begins to pass you by and then your dreams can no longer become reality instead they will remain exactly that, just a dream. And never let anyone discourage you from learning. Remember if you are the smartest person in the room, then you need to find another room!

If I asked one of your clients why they choose you over others, what would they likely say?

They would say they choose to train with me because of my education, expertise and drive to help them accomplish their goals. I love to see clients happy and when clients get results they are happy. This is one reason I am so driven to educate fitness professionals because I know firsthand how happy their clients will be reaping the results from a more educated trainer.

Name one or two ways you are trying to raise the bar in the industry?

Personally, I put everything I have as far as time and energy educating anyone willing to learn. From clients, to staff, to trainers, to my family; if they are willing to learn, I will help them in any way I can to teach, coach and train within my scope of practice to the best of my abilities. I am extremely passionate about creating some form of laws, government or legalized process in the personal training industry and this is currently where I spend a chunk of my time reading, researching and learning to see what we can do to improve the situation of our industry. Far too many great personal trainers are getting overlooked because the market is so diluted with the unacceptable bad personal trainers that you see everywhere. This is completely unacceptable to me and we must make strides to change this for the future of our industry.
