Power Systems, Inc., a fitness and sports performance equipment supplier based in Knoxville, TN, is reaching out to its customers and giving them the opportunity to participate with the company in contributing money to the American Red Cross for Haitian relief efforts. During the next few weeks, Power Systems will be donating $2 from every order to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development fund.
“Like so many others in the United States, we have been watching the news and reports of the terrible conditions the Haitian people have been dealing with and wanted to help in some way,” said Julie Pauletto, President of Power Systems. “As a group, our employees wanted to participate and we thought it would be wonderful to also include our customers as we view them as part of our family. We hope the funds and supplies we are able to raise provide a small amount of relief in this overwhelming disaster.”
In addition to the corporate donation, employees at Power Systems made additional contributions direct to the American Red Cross. The company will also be donating close to 200 exercise mats it had available as a supplier to the fitness and athletic markets to Love A Child, Inc. for use in orphanages and shelters for bedding. Averitt Express, Inc., based in Cookeville, TN, provided free transportation of the mats to Florida to be consolidated with other goods the charity will be directing to Haiti.
