When we think about posture, we often focus on the spine, shoulders, and head position. But as a functional podiatrist, I can tell you — true postural alignment starts at the feet.

Your foot posture refers to how your foot aligns and supports your body when standing, walking, or moving. This includes the position of your arches, the alignment of your heel, and how your toes engage with the ground. A neutral foot posture helps create a stable foundation for the rest of your body to stack properly.

But when foot posture is off — think overpronation, collapsing arches, or uneven pressure distribution—it creates a ripple effect that travels up the kinetic chain.

👉 Weak foot posture can cause the knees to rotate inward, the hips to shift, the pelvis to tilt, and even alter spinal alignment.
👉 Over time, this compensation leads to muscle imbalances, joint stress, and inefficient movement patterns.

The good news? The foot is an incredibly adaptive structure—and it's highly sensory. Through barefoot training, textured stimulation (like Naboso), and intentional foot activation, we can train our foot posture to better support total body alignment.

In the video below I share more about foot posture and how you can find a neutral position through understanding joint coupling and with the help of the Naboso Foot Wedges.
