Most of us have heard the saying, "When one door closes, another door opens." In this economic time, I believe the saying will change to, "When one door closes, the ones beside it have or will be doing the same soon." I don't want to be negative, but the fact is small businesses are closing down everywhere. The question then is: How do we keep our clubs from experiencing the same fate?
When it comes to keeping a business open during hard economic times, there are two things that can be done between the employees and employer: make more money and save more money. It sounds obvious and basic, but the rules are just that - obvious and basic. The staff cannot look at the owner and ask, "So, what are you going to do?" There has to be a team eff ort to make it through the hard times.
